György Farkas cimbalist lives in Budapest. He was a student of the great cimbalist Tarjáni Tóth Ida. He continued his musical studies at the world famous Rajkó orchestra and by travelling through Europe, acquiered a significant experience on stage. After becoming a certified musician, he started to work in the Hungarian and foreign catering industry with acknowledged musicians of the profession. Since 1984, he has organized his appearances as an orchestra leader.
The most important station of his career was his debutation in 1988 at the Hotel Palace Gstaad, which is a member of the hotelchain Leading Hotels of the World, where he and his orchestra perform eversince. Later, Mr Farkas gets also the chance to performe in the legendary Hotel Ritz of Paris for several years.
Thanks to the orchestra’s widely varied repertoire, during the year, Mr Farkas is oftentimes invited to perform at many private events, such as weddings, birthdays or anniversaries. In their repertoire we can find popular melodies of diferent nations, as well as evergreens, operettas, waltz, gipsy and dance music, jazz and pieces of well-known classics.
